To study any five major drought- prone districts of Maharashtra state and show themon outline map of Maharashtra.


Purpose/Importance of the activity:

To understand the impact of drought in Maharashtra focusing on five district , aiming to raise awareness about water scarcity issues and potential solutions.


Propose time duration of the activity:

Approximately 24 hours.


Materials and apparatus required for the activity:

Maps of Maharashtra , laptop for research , notebooks and pens, Internet for data collection.



Methodology of the activity:

i) Research on drought-prone districts.

ii) Interview locals for first hand experiences.

iii) Analyze historical data on water levels.

iv) examined government initiatives and policies related to waterconservation and drought mitigation , assessing their implementation andeffectiveness.

v) Distributed surveys among local communities to guess their perceptions , challenges faced , and the adaptation strategies employed to combat drought.

vi) Systematically compared findings across districts , identifying commonalities and unique challenges to provide a comprehensive overview.

vii) created visual aids including maps and charts to present data enhance understanding during the final project presentation.

viii) Shared preliminary findings with mentors , incorporating feedback to refine the research approach and ensure accuracy in the final report.

ix) Conducted interviews with local authorities , NGOs , and experts to gain insights into collaborative efforts and potential solutions.

x) Maintained ethical standards throughout the research , ensuring respect for local communities , privacy and cultural sensitiveness.
