1 National Security

Q. Answer the following in brief:

(1) what is security?

Ans.
Security is an inherent need and response of any living being. Nature has gifted every creature on earth the capabilities and resources of utmost protection / self protection of its own life.


(2) India's natural resources India's strength. Justify this statement . ( only five points )

Ans.

i) India's abundant mineral resources specially coal bauxite , manganese and iron.

ii) India is also one of the biggest producers and exporters of coal and the largest exporter of diamond .

iii) India's main source of economy is agriculture. It is one among exporters of rice wheat and more crops.

iv) India has a very large reserve that is a major produce of paper, firewood , spices , gums, herbs, etc .

v) With mountains , deserts and seas along with ancient history and rich cultural heritage , India is known as to be on of the most beautiful tourist destination.


(3) Find out about India's achievements in nuclear science and space research sectors from the perspective of national interest and national development. Write down five important points you understand from the information.

Ans.

Important points :

(1) ISRO built India's first satellite 'Aryabhatta' which was launched by the Soviet Union .

(2) In 9080 , ISRO launched a satellite that was very useful in the study of space.

(3) India is one of the few countries in the world with autonomous satellite capabilities.

(4) ISRO as the world's constellations of Remote sensing satellites.

(5) RLV took it's first flight ever on May 23, 2016.


(4) What efforts can be made at the family level for human security/safety? Write two points.

2. The Military Forces consisting of Army , Navy and Air Force are responsible for India's security systems. Two incidents are given below. Find out about any one incident. Get information about which forces played the important role of security during that incident and write a report in the following format : (1) 2008 MumbaiAttacks (2) Uri surgical strikes

2008 Mumbai attacks (26/11)


(2) Additional information about the incident :

(1) It was a series of terrorist attacks .

(2) It took place in November 2008 .

(3) 10 members of lashkar- e- taiba were involved .

(4) Attacks lasted 4 days across Mumbai.

(5) There were carried out 12 coordinated bombing .

(6) Attacks lasted until 29 November 2008.

(7) Atotal of 175 people died .

(8) 300 were wounded .


(3) Actions taken by Force involved in the incident :

(1) On 28 November many sites were secured.

(2) But it had the exception of the hotel Taj Mahal .

(3) Mumbai police did this valuable work.

(4) Further , NSG conducted the operation Black Tornado.

(5) Operation Black Tornado flush out the remaining attackers.

(6) It culminated in the death of ackers.

(7) Mumbai police too sacrificed in the incident .

(8) They stopped Kasab from escaping out .

i) These attacks show the failures of our security system.

ii) The attack cost a great loss of life of many people .

iii) At any cost these types of attacks shouldn't happen again .

Alexander : Hey Porus , you have been defeated by my army and you are brought here as a war prisoner. What do you think, I should behave with you in what manner.

King Porus : I am not like other kings who beg for their life , you can treat as you treat others.

Points: National integrity plays significant role to face external aggression by country. If people of a country have in them the feeling of integrity or unity then it will be easier for the country to stand against external aggression occurring.


(2) Provisions in the Constitution of India for National Integrity.

Points: Indian constitution has provision for promoting and ensuring National integration by adopting socialism , liberty, equality , justice and fraternity as its objective.


(3) 'India's development in the field of science and technology'.

Points : i) India's flag is showing high in various fields of science and technology such as defence , space, power, etc.
ii) India is among several nations having atomic Power for both peace and war.
iii) Recently India had launched 100 satellites together and created world record .
