Name of the activity :
To prepare a map of the River system in your district .
Purpose/importance of the activity :
To make map of river system to understand route and direction of different
rivers in our district.
Proposed time duration for the activity :
3 to 4 days are required to prepare river map of our district .
Materials and apparatus required for the activity :
Paper , pen , colourful pens phone , questionnaire.
Methodology of the activity:
i) Arrange all material which is required for the activity.
ii) Make groups of 4 - 5 students.
iii) Visit different rivers and their tributaries.
iv) Take photos of river.
v) Ask questionnaire to the people living nearby.
vi) Note their answers, responses and views.
vii) Collect all information about the river.
viii) Ask for suggestions if any.
ix) Now observe the information you have collected and analyse the data.
x) From that come to a conclusion.

Without water from our rivers, irrigation system would collapse crops
would perish and we would go hungry!
What New Things did you Learn ?
i) River carry water and nutrients to areas all around the earth.
ii) River valleys and plians provide fertile soil.
Conclusion:
Away from human uses , river also provides habitat for
aquatic biodiversity like fish, bugs, plants , and even algae .
Your Own Opinion/Experience about the Activity:
Rivers provide natural habitats for fish, birds and other
wildlife. Also provide recreation areas and sporting
opportunities such as fishing and Kaya king.

Parents helped us in our activity by coming with us and
visiting the rivers and guided us.
Opinion of the parents:
Rivers are not only source of water for human consumption,
but they also sustain agriculture and benefit us in other
ways.
