Unit 2 : Activity - 3


Name of the activity :
To study the different types of Wells in the area.


Purpose/importance of the activity :
To know about different water structures like well, lake, borewell, etcin our area and reasons for making such water structures.


Proposed time duration for the activity :
To complete one week is required.


Materials and apparatus required for the activity :
Book, pen, pencil, tape, phone or camera.


Methodology of the activity:

i) Arrange book, pen, tape, etc.

ii) Make groups of 8 to 10 students.

iii) Visit different wall structures like Wells, lakes, etc nearby.

iv) Talk to people living there and gather information about that particular Wells.

v) Note all details in the book.

vi) Arrange details in different groups like the problem and its solution.

vii) Availability of groundwater.

viii) Information on how and water extend land is used and methods of land used.

Concepts Learnt During the Activity:

i) Round wells are used by people for drinking, doing home chores, etc.

ii) Mini houses used borewell for basic activities.


What New Things did you Learn ?
Different types of wells are made according to the groundwater level in that area.


Conclusion:
Now these borewells are a dig in many areas and few round wells are there.

We learned lots of new things and had experience of using well and bore well.
